Calculated for Koraput town in India time, not copied from a panjika: the Sun and Moon by standard astronomical formulas, the signs with the Lahiri ayanamsa, Rahu Kaal as the usual eighth of the daylight. A printed panjika can differ by some minutes, and on a day when a tithi or nakshatra changes near sunrise it may name the next one. The readings are traditional astrology, not a forecast: don't base health, money or legal decisions on them.
How the readings work
An Odia rashifal starts from your rashi, the sign the Moon was in at your birth. Counting from it, today's Moon falls in one of twelve houses, and tradition (Chandra gochara) gives each house a character: the 1st, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 10th and 11th are favourable, the 8th, Chandrashtama, is the hardest, and the rest call for care. The Moon moves on every two and a quarter days or so, so the readings change with it. The Sun's house, counted the same way, changes once a month at each Sankranti; it is favourable in the 3rd, 6th, 10th and 11th.
Colours on the cards: green for a favourable day, amber for go carefully, red for Chandrashtama. The time the Moon leaves its sign is in the panchang, and the readings change at that time.
Rahu Kaal
Rahu Kaal is one eighth of the daylight, from sunrise to sunset, that many families keep free of new beginnings. Which eighth depends on the weekday: the 2nd on Monday, the 3rd on Saturday, the 4th on Friday, the 5th on Wednesday, the 6th on Thursday, the 7th on Tuesday and the last on Sunday. Because it follows Koraput's own sunrise and sunset, it moves through the year.
