Short version: this website counts visits with Google Analytics, which sets two cookies; the only other things kept in your browser are a copy of each page you open, so it works offline, and the link to any booking you make here, and the trip planner sends nothing anywhere until you decide to message us. The detail is below, and it describes what the site actually does rather than what a template would say.

The only cookies are Google Analytics'
The only cookies this website sets are the two Google Analytics uses to count visits, _ga and _ga_RRE90YJ23Z, which by Google's defaults last up to two years. Apart from those, the site keeps copies of the pages you open so they still work without a connection, a one-line note for a moment after a page has updated itself, and, if you book dates here, the private link to your booking. None of these says anything about who you are. You can see both in your browser's developer tools, and blocking or deleting them there changes nothing else on this site.
The trip planner does not send anything
The planner on the home page picks a route from the choices you make. All of it happens inside your browser. Nothing is submitted to a server, nothing is stored, and we never see it. When you press the WhatsApp button it opens WhatsApp with a message already written, which you can edit or delete before sending. Until you press send in WhatsApp, we know nothing about you.
What happens when you message us
If you message us on WhatsApp, or call, or email, we receive what you send: your phone number or email address, and the trip details you share. We keep that conversation so we can plan the trip, quote it and run it, and so we can find it again if you travel with us a second time. We do not sell it, rent it, or pass it to anyone who is not needed to deliver your trip — a hotel you asked us to book, for instance. WhatsApp itself is run by Meta and its own privacy terms apply to the message while it is in transit.
The trip diary and your feedback
Our crew logs each trip as it happens, and the trip diary on this website shows those logs: where the group stopped, at what time, and the guests' own rating of each stop. Guests are never named. A trip appears only if the guests agreed when it began, and the hotel where they sleep is named only after the trip has ended. At the end of a trip we may send you a feedback link. The form asks for a rating and, if you wish, a comment; it does not ask for your name. Your feedback is shown on the trip's page only if you tick the box that says so; otherwise it stays with us. To have a trip or your feedback taken down, message us.
The Android app
The Ananta Tours app on Google Play shows this same website, so everything on this page applies to it. It asks for no permission except internet access and collects nothing the website does not. Google Analytics counts app visits like any others, marked as coming from the app.
Other companies your browser talks to
Loading a page here also contacts a small number of other services. Each one can see your IP address and which page you were on, which is how the web works rather than a choice we made lightly.
- Cloudflare hosts and delivers this site, so it handles every request and keeps short-lived logs to serve pages and block attacks.
- Google Analytics loads once a page has finished loading and receives each page view. What it records is under Analytics below.
- Google Maps is embedded in two places. On the home page it sits in the map section and loads only if you scroll down to it; on the contact page it is near the top and loads with the page. Only when a map loads does Google receive your IP address and possibly set its own cookies. If you never scroll to the map on the home page and never open the contact page, Google is never contacted.
- The Listen button on the guides plays a recording served from this domain. Only if a guide has changed since it was recorded does it ask your own device to read the page aloud instead, and some browsers do that with an online voice (Chrome's Google voices, Edge's natural voices), which sends the text of the page to Google or Microsoft to be spoken. Nothing is read, and nothing is sent, unless you press Listen.
- Fonts, images, the Listen recordings and all the code the pages run, including the animation and smooth-scrolling libraries, are served from this domain, not from a third party.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, run by Google, to learn which pages and searches bring people here and whether they then message or call us. It records the page, the site you came from, your device and browser, and your approximate location worked out from your IP address. It does not receive your name, your phone number or your trip planner choices, and its advertising features are switched off. Google handles this under its privacy policy. To opt out on every site, install Google's opt-out add-on or block its cookies in your browser.
If you book dates here, Google Analytics also counts the booking as a sale: its reference, the advance, and the number of days and guests, when you send the request, when you pay, and when we confirm the advance (that last one from our server, linked to the same visit). Never your name or phone number.
What we do not do
- No advertising pixels, no remarketing, no social media trackers.
- No accounts for visitors, no passwords, no payment details taken on this website. Only our own crew signs in, to post the trip diary.
- No selling or sharing of your contact details.
- No newsletter sign-ups you did not ask for.
Payments
Nothing is paid on this website itself: the booking advance is paid in your own banking or UPI app, to the UPI QR or ID shown on your private booking page or sent on WhatsApp. We never see or store card or bank details. If you book dates on this website, we keep what you type there (your name, phone number, dates, group size, pickup and plan) and the UPI transaction ID you enter, so we can match your payment, hold your dates and call or message you about the booking. The phone number is used for nothing else. Your phone keeps the booking's private link, so you can open it again.
Your choices
Ask us to delete your conversation and the trip details you sent, and we will, unless we still need them for a trip that has not happened yet or for a record we are required to keep. Ask us what we hold about you and we will tell you. WhatsApp is the quickest way to ask.
Changes
If what we do changes, this page changes with it, and the review date at the top moves. It was last reviewed in October 2026.
