The falls
The Musala river comes down through the forest over a run of rocks, in a series of small falls rather than one big drop, with pools between them. It is a favourite picnic spot, and the Keonjhar district lists it among its tourist places, about 12 km from Ghatagaon. The state government announced in 2023 that it would develop the site for visitors.
When to go
After the monsoon and through the winter, when the river still has water and the forest is green. In the rains the flow is strongest and the rocks most slippery.
