Balda Cave is a cave shrine on a hill with a wide, flat top, near Balda village in Koraput district, Odisha. From the top you look out over the Jalaput reservoir. It is 66 km (about 2 h) from Koraput town and 44 km (about 1 h 25 min) from Semiliguda.

What Balda Cave is
The district lists Balda as a cave shrine and an eco point. The cave is on a hill whose summit is a broad, flat plateau: big enough, the district says, for five football matches to be played at once. It calls the hill a good place for trekking and for anyone who loves open country.
The view over Jalaput
From the plateau you look down on the Jalaput reservoir, the lake behind Jalaput dam on the Odisha–Andhra Pradesh border. The dam is 31 km (about 50 min) from Balda Cave by road, so the two fit in one day.
The Chaitra festival
Local people worship at the cave during the Chaitra festival, which falls in March or April. It is a place of worship all year, so dress simply.
